After a trip to Scotland to fish the River Tay in readyness for the rivers International at the end of June. It was a short trip, we left the house at 3:30am to catch the 6:30am flight from Bristol to Edinburgh and then the 9pm flight home Sunday evening.
Im not going to get into much detail regarding the fishing, there may be spies on here from other competing countries! 😛
After a few good tying sessions for the lakes, is was apparent that I left my river box dwindle somewhat.. I was quite disappointed with myself as I was looking for flies which I should have had, which weren’t there! Row upon row of empty slots where fish catches are usually present – It’s time I sit at the vice and give some well tendered service to my two river boxes.
With the rain now setting in here in Brecon it’s looking like the rivers may take a hit tomorrow, so it’ll be a tying day to bring my boxes back to standard.
One thing I was quite impressed with though was the new Airflo V-Lite fly reel, a cracking little toy for the rivers or lake. I’ve been using a prototype for the last couple of months and cant fault it one bit – I genuine work horse, plenty of backing capacity and stunning looks – Check it out here available from Fishtec – Airflo V-Lite reel
