Welsh River Trials

Sunday is the Welsh rivers trials, a qualifier to make next years river international on the river Taff. It will be fished on the same stretches of the river that the international will be fished on, getting the best possible team on the very same river the competition will be held on. Makes sense, don’t you think?

Myself and Allen already in the team due to carry overs from previous years so we are fortunate we don’t have to compete this year! It’s a bit of a bummer really as having to stand around watching others fish can be daunting, especially if you can see fish which they can’t! Also it would give us competition practice which can only be a good thing, right?

So with only three places to fish for and the weather set to continue like this for the next couple of days the river will be low and possibly quite hard! No doubt it’ll be blank avoidance in the last session, full concentration and alertness will be key.

I’ll let you know how the anglers get on, but best of luck to all and may the best anglers triumph!
