A few hours fly tying..

When the rain pours and the river rises, it’s always good to get to the vice and replenish stocks of your favourite fly or create some weird and wonderful patterns. Over the weekend I’ve started to build my box up for a few up and coming competitions, it surprises me how many flies you can tie and loose over a couple of fishing trips!

My nymph box for the lake has been looking a little sorry to say the least, it’s about time I turned that around… I sat down for a few hours night before last night and rattled off a few new additions. I’ve been chatting to Ian @ flybox.co.uk about patterns and material, it’s funny what you can learn and what inspires you when talking to other fly tiers and anglers. Below is a small selection of which will be hitting the water soon.. the Orange Booby is already working well…
